Kelly Rowland comes to Chris Brown’s defense

Kelly Rowland took the stage of Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on 20th November for this year’s AMAs.

Moreover, she was on hosting duties and was tasked to present the Favorite Male R&B Artist award.

Brent Faiyaz, Giveon, Lucky Daye, and The Weeknd were nominated but were fended off by Chris Brown who went on to win the award.

However, after Rowland announced the result, audible booing voices can be heard from the audience as the camera panned toward them.

However, the fans continued to boo Brown which prompted Rowland to stop her speech midway and address the situation.

She fired back by holding a finger at the crowd as she mentioned,  ‘Excuse me… chill out.’

Nevertheless, she continued with, ‘But I wanted to tell Chris, thank you so much for making great R&B music and I want to tell him to thank you for being an incredible performer. I’ll take this award — bring it to you. I love you. Congratulations. And congratulations to all the nominees in this category.’
