Kelly Clarkson pulls a fast one in the latest episode of The Voice
The Voice Season 23 has entered the final Battles Week which gave fans an insight into Kelly Clarkson’s competitive skills.
Moreover, Monday’s episode opened with Team Kelly contestant Ali battling with D. Smooth, also known as David Mitchell.
The Miss Independent singer opted for them to perform Unaware by Allen Stone because according to her they were both so soulful.
However, the challenge ended up in the favour of Ali. But while D. Smooth was saying his goodbyes, Chance the Rapper took the opportunity to press the button to steal him.
He said, ‘Team Chance man. Finally, I get to take someone from Kelly and it feels so great.’
Meanwhile, Clarkson interrupted him by saying, ‘Can I just say something real quickly. I’m using my Playoff Pass.’
She continued, ‘I kind of feel bad because you might want to work with him but I just don’t care. I love you. You have the gift to make it all the way to the finale.’
If you didn’t know, the pass was introduced last week. Subsequently, it gives coaches the power to override another’s steal. Hence, she still has both D. Smooth and Ali on her side.
Besides that, Blake Shelton remarked on it saying, ‘one of the meanest things I’ve ever seen.’
Kelly Clarkson reveals her favorite rehearsal on The Voice
Kelly Clarkson recently shared her favorite rehearsal in The Voice after being one of the coaches for nearly nine seasons of the show.
Additionally, the honor went to her team’s singers Holly Brand and Katie Beth Forakis. The two artists faced off against each other on Monday while singing a cover of Lady Like by Ingrid Andress.
Clarkson on the other hand said, ‘I love this song. I love the idea of powerful women just singing a powerful message. I think it’s undeniably cool.’
She continued, ‘Holly is a powerhouse female country singer. … She has a very full, big voice. Katie Beth has this really cool thing about her, these incredible runs that she does. She goes to these places that are almost jazz-like.’
She went on to admit that she would have a tough time choosing between the two contestants.
