A viral video of Keith Lee being pranked by TikToker Gerald Huston at the BET Awards has stirred a whirlwind of reactions online, with netizens divided in their opinions on the incident.

Keith Lee, a well-known TikTok food reviewer, was among the influencers who attended the BET Awards in late June. However, his appearance at the event has garnered a mixed response from viewers, with one particular incident becoming a focal point of discussion.

While Lee was walking outside the venue, TikToker Gerald Huston, famous for his prank videos, approached him. Huston jokingly mistook Lee for rapper DDG, who bears a striking resemblance to the food reviewer. This prompted security to grab Lee by the arms and hold him back as Huston continued his prank. “Don’t do that,” Lee warned Huston.

A security guard even cautioned Huston that Lee was an MMA fighter capable of “knocking him out,” but the prankster persisted. Recognizing Huston, Lee remarked, “I get it, I get your content. I watch you all the time,” as security escorted him away from the scene.

Huston uploaded the video of the prank on July 3, igniting a heated debate about Lee’s reaction. The comment section was flooded with both positive and negative opinions.

“Why do they actually get so mad?” one user questioned. “Keith Lee act like he somebody.”

“Keith Lee moving like the president as a TikTok food reviewer,” another commented.

“Keith Lee been acting like a buster lately,” another added.

However, many defended Lee. “He already has social anxiety. Stop playing with people you don’t personally know. He’s an MMA fighter too. Bold move,” one supporter wrote.

“Bro walked up to Keith Lee calling him DDG and he said don’t do that. And y’all flipping out cuz he don’t wanna play with dude content lol,” another remarked.

The negative feedback echoed previous criticisms directed at Lee, such as when actress Taraji P. Henson mistakenly identified him as Jordan Howlett. Lee had posted and quickly deleted a video of himself tossing a rose onto the carpet at the BET Awards, which led to accusations of letting his online fame “get to his head.”

Despite the backlash, Lee has yet to respond to Huston’s prank video or the subsequent criticism. However, he did address the mix-up with Taraji Henson, praising the actress for her gracious handling of the situation.

As the debate continues, Lee’s supporters and detractors remain vocal, reflecting the polarizing nature of his online persona. Whether this incident will lead to a change in how Lee handles public interactions or further solidify his approach to social media content remains to be seen.
