Elon Musk restored Kanye West’s Twitter account over the weekend. Although Kanye West has been relatively silent on social media, Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, now known as X, reactivated his Twitter account. Ye’s account was suspended for eight months by the social media mogul. Kanye’s account went up on Saturday (July 29), according to the UK’s Daily Mail. Kanye will not be able to make money from his account on the newly rebranded X, according to the social-sharing platform. Furthermore, adverts will not appear next to his posts. He does, however, have the gold cheque, which is usually designated for business accounts.

Kanye West’s Twitter account was disabled in December 2022 after a post on his account appears to display a swastika inside a Star of David. Earlier that day, during a bizarre encounter with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, he made anti-Semitic slurs and glorified Hitler. Elon Musk noted that the message violated the platform’s policy prohibiting incitement of violence. Kanye was initially barred from using Twitter after tweeting an anti-Semitic message that breached their regulations. He sent the venomous remark a day after slamming Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg for allegedly banning him off Instagram.

Kanye West’s Twitter Account Reopened, Read His Old Tweets About Kim Kardashian And Pornography

Kanye West has returned to Twitter. The 46-year-old rapper’s return to Twitter comes after Elon Musk banned him from the network in December after he uploaded a photograph of a swastika inside a Star of David. West sent out a series of farewell tweets before getting kicked off the network on December 2, 2022. His tweets also included rumours that he and his ex-wife were having an affair with Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul — though sources close to Kardashian and Paul rejected the story to PEOPLE at the time, stating West’s remark was “not true” — and comments against cancel culture. Since his account was reinstated, the rapper known as Ye has yet to make a post. Kanye will not be able to make money through his account on the newly rebranded X, according to the social-sharing platform. Furthermore, adverts will not appear next to his posts. He does, however, have the gold cheque, which is usually designated for business accounts.

Musk, 52, spoke publicly about his decision to remove West from Twitter, where he was CEO at the time, in December. “I tried my best,” he wrote. Despite this, West violated the rule against inciting violence once again. “His account has been suspended.” West had previously been involved in a dispute for antisemitic remarks he made. He was previously banned from Twitter in October for a tweet in which he stated his intention to do “death con [sic] 3 on Jewish people.” As a result, the rapper and fashion designer lost lucrative collaborations with hundreds of brands, including Adidas. Regardless, his Twitter account was restored in November. Musk considers himself a “free speech absolutist” and has stated that Twitter should only intervene to comply with local laws. A potential deal for West to buy the conservative social media platform Parler also fell through last year. Parler told NPR that it had terminated a previous arrangement to sell the website to the rapper in mid-November.
