K-pop Band TXT becomes first Korean group to be crowned Hero of the Year at NME Awards 2022

K-pop band TXT was crowned “Hero of the Year” at the UK’s NME Awards for the first time ever.

Music magazine New Music Express holds its annual NME Awards show each year. The show, which first took place in 1953, celebrates musical, film, and cultural achievements.

The NME Awards also include several tongue-in-cheek categories, such as “Villain of the Year” and “Worst Record of the Year.”

It is interesting to note that the trophies given to the winners are shaped like extended middle fingers.

TXT win “Hero of the Year” award, and Jacob Rees-Mogg is named “Villain of the Year.”

The official list of winners for the BandLab NME Awards 2022 was released on March 2, ahead of the awards ceremony.

TXT was then announced as the winner of the “Hero of the Year” award. Making him the first Korean celebrity or artist to receive the award.

It has been reported that the band received 40 percent of the votes for “Hero of the Year.”

As a result, Jacob Rees-Mogg, the British Minister of State for Europe and Brexit Opportunities, has been dubbed NME’s “Villain of the Year” for 2022.
