Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s halftime act at the 2020 Super Bowl will go down in history as one of the most memorable. The music icons wowed the crowd at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, where they were praised for their on-stage chemistry. JLo has now revealed the behind-the-scenes of the duo’s performance on the football field in a new Netflix documentary. She considered having two headliners to be the “worst idea in the world.”
The singer-actress remarked in the documentary Halftime. It was released on June 14, that “I admire the individual who has maintained composure during this ordeal. I doubt I could have done the Super Bowl five or ten years ago… I wasn’t prepared for what was about to happen.”
Before their performance, JLo and Shakira FaceTimed each other
“I have so much more I want to accomplish.” I have so much more to say. I’m not finished yet. Jennifer Lopez continued, “Not even close.” “The more we can know what each other’s thinking, the easier it’ll be and the more at ease it’ll be”. Lopez was overheard saying as JLo and Shakira FaceTimed each other before their performance. “I know the Super Bowl people want us to be threaded throughout the broadcast,” Shakira told Jennifer Lopez.
“I received kind of a decent confirmation that we may have an extra minute or two so we’re at 13 or 14 minutes,” JLo remarked, interrupting her. Shakira, I believe we should have half the time.”
“It was an insult to say that you required two Latinas to execute the job that one artist has historically done,” Lopez’s manager Benny Medina remarked.
In new documentary, JLO compared bellydancing to just shaking the ass. She said this type of dance and what Shakira offered wasn’t culturally relevant enough to be shown on stage.

One commenter wrote on Twitter: “JLO compared Bellydancing to “simply shaking your ass” in a new documentary. She claimed that this style of dance, as well as what Shakira had to offer, were not culturally relevant enough to be performed on stage. This comes after she expressed dissatisfaction about sharing the stage with Shakira. Bitter, obnoxious, and incorrect.”

Another person with a similar viewpoint was, “This is completely insensitive to my culture. Jlo has disappointed my entire family.”
“Tell me about Shakira’s contribution to Lebanon. Shakira is more proud of her Latina and Colombian heritage than she is of her Lebanese heritage. She’s only been to Lebanon once in her life, and she’s smart enough to have just taken belly dance since she knew it was new to western culture, and it made her famous “another person stated.
Tell me what did shakira for Lebanon? Shakira is more proud to be latina and Colombian than being lebanese. She has visited Lebanon only one time in her whole life.. she is smart only took belly dancing cuz she knew its new for western culture and that made her famous
