Netflix’s latest documentary Halftime follows Lopez as she awaits an Oscar for her part in Hustlers, which she also co-produced.

Jennifer Lopez filmed her documentary, Halftime while she was going through an exciting period in her life.
It should have also included an Oscar nomination however it did not come to fruition.
At the beginning of the documentary, the singer shares about getting cast in Hustlers. She also explains why the project was so different.
The actress said, ‘When I got Hustlers, it was exciting. It was gritty. It had substance. And that’s something that I fought for in my career.’
As the documentary went on, it showed the movie’s premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2019.
Lopez mentions in a confessional, ‘I really thought I had a chance. I felt like I left everybody down.’
However as it got closer to Oscar nominations, Lopez appeared to be getting visibly emotional.
Regardless, the musician woke up empty-handed on the morning of the Oscar nominations.
Lopez opened up about the loss during her conversation with Oprah Winfrey at Oprah’s 2020 Vision Tour Visionaries.
The 52-year-old celebrity mentioned, ‘I was a little sad because there was a lot of buildup to it. There were so many articles.’
J.Lo has previously been quite vocal over her struggling to be “heard, to be seen, to be taken seriously” in the Hollywood industry.
