Amber Heard is pouring cold water after rumors started circulating that she is axed from her role in Aquaman 2.

People continue to question the actress’s status in the upcoming DC movie despite knowing she lost the high-profile defamation case to Johnny Depp.

Here is everything you need to know.

Is Amber Heard’s role cut from Aquaman 2?

Reports started going around last week alleging that Amber Heard has been permanently removed from the Aquaman 2.

Furthermore, the source also claimed that Warner Bros. has recast Heard from her role as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

They also mentioned that the studio will soon conduct a reshoot this time with stars, Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman.

However, a spokesperson for the actress recently came forward to clear out the air.

They talked to EW about it saying, ‘The rumor mill continues as it has from day one- inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane.’

Warner Bros. is yet to respond to the ongoing rumors.

In truth, however, Heard has no say in how much time she will appear in the movie or if she gets recast.

Warner Bros. filmed all her scenes about a year ago. They have also paid her $2 million for her role too. So contractually speaking, the deal between Heard and the studio has ended.

Amber Heard’s role diminished from Aquaman 2

Amber Heard’s involvement in the Aquaman franchise has been a subject discussed frequently during her trial with former husband Johnny Depp.

Regardless, the case concluded earlier this month with the jury largely supporting the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.

The jurors also determined that Heard has defamed the star when she penned down an op-ed in the 2018 Washington Post claiming herself to be a victim of domestic abuse.

However, during her trial, Heard claimed that Warner Bros ‘didn’t want to include me’ in the DC superhero sequel.

She also testified that her role was considerably ‘pared down’ after Depp’s legal team launched a campaign against her.

Heard will reportedly only appear for 10 minutes in the forthcoming DC movie.

The 33-year-old actress also mentioned that she had to ‘fight really hard’ for her role in Justice League (2017),  Aquaman (2018), and its forthcoming sequel.

DC Films President at Warner Bros, Walter Hamada, was called in during the high-profile defamation case.

He took a stand on behalf of Depp’s legal team and rebuffed all of Heard’s claims. He confirmed that the actress role was never reduced in the film.
