Rihanna will perform for the halftime show of the 2023 Super Bowl just a few days from now. The pop superstar has been rumoured to be joined by Jay-Z during her performance, but will he come? In advance of her forthcoming Apple Music Halftime Show at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., scheduled for Sunday (Feb. 12), Rihanna held a press conference/interview on Thursday (Feb. 9). An interviewer asked RiRi about the set list for her monumental performance. One of the biggest challenges was the setlist. The hardest part was deciding how to maximize 13 minutes while also celebrating, she said. I’m going to celebrate my catalog at the show, that’s what it’s going to be about. Our time limit is 13 minutes, so that’s the challenge.

She continued, In 13 minutes, you have to cram 17 years of work. Despite that, I think we narrowed it down quite a bit. The interview concluded with Rihanna premiering a teaser for Run This Town on Apple Music. This clip shows a young girl in a school uniform and flashy sunglasses strutting her stuff in her neighbourhood before flying kites with friends. In the background, Jay-Z’s “Run This Town,” featuring Rihanna, is playing. As previously reported, Jay-Z and Roc Nation are helping Rihanna organize her halftime performance at Super Bowl LVII, and fans have speculated that he may join the singer on stage. Hov signing RiRi when he was president/CEO of Def Jam Recordings in 2004 makes sense since he is the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist.

Will Jay-Z perform with Rihanna at the Super Bowl in 2023?

Rihanna teased what fans can expect from her Super Bowl 2023 halftime show performance during a press conference in Phoenix, Ariz., on Thursday. Our team has been working on it for a while, and every day it gets closer to completion. I have a really big rehearsal today. It’s going to be crucial for Sunday, Rihanna said, stylishly wearing a leather jacket, an edgy patterned dress, and lace-up heels. There is a lot of preparation involved. This is a week of testing – it really is. There are a lot of moving parts that we’re just tightening up, everyone’s dialling in, everyone’s tuning up,” she continued. It’s literally 300 to 400 people dismantling the stage, reconstructing it, and removing it within eight minutes. It’s amazing. It’s almost impossible. As she prepared to hit the stage with her jam-packed set list, Rihanna admitted that narrowing it down had been the most challenging aspect. Many fans expect Jay-Z to perform alongside the pop star, but will he? In partnership with Apple Music, Rihanna debuted a short teaser for Run This Town at the end of the interview. This clip shows a young girl strutting her stuff in her neighbourhood before flying a kite with her friends wearing a school uniform and flashy sunglasses.

A background track is playing in the background, which features Rihanna in Jay-Z’s track “Run This Town. Rumours have swirled that Jay-Z might appear alongside Rihanna at Super Bowl LVII. As previously reported, Jay-Z and Roc Nation are coordinating the singer’s performance. Being the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist and having signed RiRi as CEO of Def Jam Recordings, it only makes sense that Hov is helping out. It seems that fans of Jay-Z are hoping that he’ll perform “Run This Town” or “Umbrella” with Rihanna during Super Bowl 57. As one person wrote, “I really want Rihanna to have her own moment at the Super Bowl, but if Jay-Z comes out to perform umbrella or run this town I might pass out.”. According to another fan, Rihanna is going to bring Jay-Z out when she performs run this town. Rihanna did not reveal if she would invite any special guests, but she did tell E! News Last November, she said she might have to perform alone onstage with just 12 minutes to spare. Fox Sports will broadcast the 2023 Super Bowl live beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. The Apple Music Halftime Show will begin around 8 p.m. ET.
