Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri addressed the user’s concern over the recent updates made on the platform.

Here is everything you need to know.

Adam Mosseri talks about the new changes on Instagram amid the backlash

Chief Adam Mosseri took to Twitter to explain the recent changes to the social media network.

Firstly he talked about the backlash they received for the app ‘shifting to video’ rather than photos.

Mosseri replied to the user’s worries by claiming, ‘We’re going to continue to support photos. It’s part of our heritage.’

However, the CEO added that he thinks ‘that more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time.’ He elaborated on it while mentioning that they are ‘going to have to lean into that shift while continuing to support photos.’

Further, Mosseri spoke about it on Platformer. He said, ‘I’m glad we took a risk — if we’re not failing every once in a while, we’re not thinking big enough or bold enough.’

The 37-year-old businessman continued, ‘But we definitely need to take a big step back and regroup. [When] we’ve learned a lot, then we come back with some sort of new idea or iteration. So we’re going to work through that.’

He then went on to mention, ‘For the new feed designs, people are frustrated and the usage data isn’t great. So there I think that we need to take a big step back, regroup, and figure out how we want to move forward.’

Mosseri’s statements come a day after major celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner expressed their outrage over the latest updates.

Jenner shared a meme and called out the app. The post said, ‘Make Instagram Instagram again.’

The 24-year-old beauty mogul further added, ‘Stop trying to be like TikTok I just to see cute photos of my friends. Sincerely, Everyone.’

Celebrities and users give their feedback

Adam Mosseri ended the clip by asking the users for their feedback. Regardless they did not hold back.

Model Chrissy Teigen responded by tweeting, ‘We don’t wanna make videos Adam lol.’

Moreover, one user said, ‘[S]top making everything reels. You’re making everyone from journalists, content creators, CEOs, and celebrities agree. It’s now an app for everything you’re advertising, not of my friends and people I think are cool.’

Whereas another chimed in saying, ‘When is Instagram going to accept that not all creators are video creators? Graphic designers, photographers, and other visual artists helped build IG and rely on it to share their work.’
