Lady Gaga is all set to amaze fans by portraying Patrizia Reggiani on screen. The just-revealed trailer for “House of Gucci” seems to be making quite the hype. MGM Studios has revealed one other have a look at its anticipated “Home of Gucci” film.
The assassination of Maurizio Gucci-
The film is based on the story of Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani. Maurizio, who died of murder on 27th March 1995, was an Italian businessman and the head of Gucci fashion house in the 1980s. His grandfather Guccio Gucci was the founder of the famous brand Gucci. He married Patrizia Reggiani in 1972 and divorced her in 1994. Maurizio’s father Rodolfo did not like Patrizia and claimed that she only cared for money.
However, in 1985 Maurizio went to Florence for a “business trip” and later sent a friend to tell Patrizia that he won’t be coming back and the marriage was over. He then started seeing a childhood friend of his. He planned on marrying her but Reggiani hired someone to kill Maurizio. Maurizio was murdered in 1995 outside his office in Milan. Reggiani was convicted in 1998 for the crime and was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment.
The trailer, cast and release date of House of Gucci-
The trailer was released on Thursday. The famous pop star Lady Gaga is playing Patrizia Reggiani. Adam Driver is playing Maurizio Gucci, Jared Leto is playing Paolo Gucci, Al Pacino is playing Aldo Gucci. WhileJeremy Irons portrays Rodolfo Gucci. In the poster we see Gaga standing boldly in front of the four men.
The trailers shed a light on the Gucci family’s wealth and the time when Maurizio introduces Patrizia to the family. She’s awestruck by the wealth and living styles of the people. We see her as a fierce lady who is thirsty for power and holds wicked plans as she enters the family. We also see a glimpse of Maurizio and Patrizia’s days when the romance started budding and then their lavish wedding. While there are some clips where we can see Patrizia and Maurizio having a clash of opinions and her trying to take over Gucci. Patricia also didn’t get along with Aldo Gucci and she talks to Maurizio about him saying,” It’s time to take out the trash”.
The trailer couldn’t be more exciting as we see everyone in the Gucci family trying to get a hold of power. We also see Patrizia hiring someone to kill Maurizio. Meanwhile,” Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” the hit song during the 80s plays in the background.
Even though this is Lady Gaga’s first film she has received a lot of appreciation for her acting skills. “House of Gucci” directed by Ridley Scott, will hit the theatres on 24 November this year.
