It is bad news for all the Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik fans out there. The pillow talk singer and the model’s fairytale seem to have ended now after Zayn had a fight with Gigi’s mother. In this article, we will discuss why Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik split up.
Zayn Malik’s statement-
Zayn took to his social media to make an official statement regarding the accusations made against him.
According to Yolanda Hadid, Gigi Hadid’s mother, she and Zayn got involved in a family dispute. It is during this fight that the singer “hit” her. Zayn denied these claims saying, “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid,”. He wrote a long paragraph confirming his side of the story. He said that while his partner (Gigi) was away he had an argument with a family member of hers (Yolanda).
Malik also said, “This was and still should be a private matter. But it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked to the press.”
Gigi who has a 13-month old daughter, Khai with Zayn has been restrained from making an official statement. Although, her PR released a statement saying, “Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time”. Zayn and Gigi have always been private with their lives. They haven’t even released Khai’s pictures anywhere.
The Family dispute of Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik-
This is not the first time Yolanda has been involved between Zayn and Gigi. She even leaked baby Khai’s first picture through her Instagram. Apparently, it was her who told the press that Gigi was pregnant before Gigi herself could share the news officially.
Zayn’s family ( his mother and sisters) have also unfollowed Gigi on Instagram.

Zayn and Gigi started seeing each other in 2015. However, the news was confirmed after Gigi appeared in one of Zayn’s music videos for PillowTalk.
Since then they were seen romancing publicly. Both even appeared on the cover of Vogue Magazine in 2016. The same year they appeared in The MET GALA
In April 2018, the power couple shocked their fans with the news of their breakup. However, they were seen together just a couple of months later. In 2019, the couple was again seen splitting up and going separate ways.
In 2020 Gigi posted a picture of Zayn on Valentine’s which meant the couple was back together and fans couldn’t have been happier. After a few months, the news of Gigi being pregnant came out, and once again they were showered with love from fans. On several occasions, Gigi has also talked about the journey as a parent and has always praised Zayn for being a great dad.
