Harry Styles’ scheduled performance in Copenhagen, Denmark, was canceled after a gunman opened fire at a shopping center in which three people were killed and four critically injured.

Here is everything you need to know.

Harry Styles Denmark gig was called off following a fatal shooting

Harry Styles was due to perform at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena on Sunday at 8 pm local time, as a part of his highly anticipated Love On Tour world shows.

However, earlier that day, a shooting occurred at the Field’s shopping mall, situated on the southern outskirts of the city, which was less than a mile away from the arena.

Initially, the show was expected to go ahead despite the shooting after officials in the area suggested to the organizers that it was safe to continue.

Regardless, the show was first delayed and then altogether canceled when an announcer took the stage to deliver the news.

Following this, the concert promoter Live Nation released a statement.

They wrote, ‘Tonight’s concert with Harry Styles has been canceled by the direction of the Danish Police. We are all truly devastated by the events of today and our thoughts are with the victims and their families.’

They added, ‘We are looking into future possibilities for the show, and hope to be able to give ticket buyers direct information as soon as possible.’

Harry Styles is’ heartbroken’ over the tragedy

Harry Styles took to social media platforms to express his feelings after his show was canceled in Denmark.

The former One Direction singer wrote in a tweet, ‘I’m heartbroken along with the people of Copenhagen. I adore this city. The people are so warm and full of love.’

He continued, ‘I’m devastated for the victims, their families, and everyone hurting.’

The chart-topping musician subsequently shared a message on Snapchat.

He wrote, ‘My team and I pray for everyone involved in the Copenhagen shopping mall shooting. I am shocked. Love H.’

Crowds of concert-goers were already gathered inside the venue on Sunday afternoon before the event’s cancellation. However, they were asked to leave with the law enforcement reportedly escorting them to the metro.

The 28-year-old star was due to take his Love On Tour show across the globe in 2020 but was postponed in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The rescheduled tour kickstarted in Las Vegas last year in September before Styles headed across the US. His Europe tour leg started last month with Glasgow.
