Florida Dog sets a new record: Who is the world’s oldest cat to have ever lived?
3 min readA dog living in Florida recently made his name in the Guinness World Records book to be the oldest pooch yet. The new record has piqued people’s curiosity to learn more about the oldest cat that has ever lived.
Cats and dogs have been dear to human beings since forever. We may outlive the wonderful creatures however watching them grow becomes one of the cherished moments of our lives. These animals hold one of the most prominent parts of our hearts.

Who is the oldest cat to have ever lived?
According to the Guinness World Record, Creme Puff has become the oldest cat to have ever lived.
The feline gained worldwide recognition after it was stated that she had lived for nearly 38 years.
As per the calculations, Creme’s age can be compared to an approx 160 human years.

Creme resided in Austin, Texas with her owner, Jake Perry. She was supposedly born on 3rd August 1967. The feline however passed away on 6th August 2005.
Reports by Daily Mail stated that Creme’s owner, Perry also was the caretaker of Granpa Rexs Allen, the fourth-oldest cat ever to live.
Guinness World Records names the world’s oldest dog
A Chihuahua from Florida is the oldest dog in the world. He is 21-years-old and is named Toby Keith.
The pooch is believed to have been born in January 2001. He stayed in an animal shelter when he was a few months old before he was adopted by his owner Gisela Shore.
Gisela stated that she was volunteering at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue when she learned about the Chihuahua. The pooch was previously owned by an elderly couple but they decided to give him to the animal shelter when they could no longer take care of him.

She further went on and mentioned that when she first met the Chihuahua he was tiny and tan. The elderly couple had named him Peanut Butter however Gisela changed his name to Toby Keith.
Toby gained prominence earlier this year when he celebrated his 21st birthday on 9th January.
The Chihuahua is suffering from a heart condition but lives his life to the fullest. He spends his time playing with two other dogs as well as two birds.
