The Oakland Fire Department acknowledged that they had been to the residence before lunchtime on the day of his death, with a representative claiming that they were ‘dispatched to a location affiliated with the actor at 11:30 am’. The spokeswoman told NBC News, “Upon the arrival of Fire EMS personnel, the patient was determined to be already deceased.” Cloud’s family said in a statement confirming his death, “It is with the heaviest heart that we’ve had to say goodbye to a wonderful human today.”

The Oakland Fire Department stated that it responded to a medical emergency at about 11:30 a.m., adding that the patient was “already deceased.” According to the fire department, the cause of death was unknown.
