Facebook verified a fan page posing as Elon Musk, but now the page is gone

Facebook accidentally verified an Elon Musk fan page. The account wasn’t even pretending to be the centibillionaire. In the about section, the fan page stated-“Musk owns a Tesla Roadster car 0001 (the first one off the production line) from Tesla Motors, a company in which he is an early investor. The Roadster is a battery-electric sports car with a 220-mile range.
This is a fan page, uploading tweets etc from him” The page was started in 2019 to represent the soccer player Gavin Kizito and the name was changed to Elon Musk in October 2021.
Also, in the “page transparency” section of Facebook, the location of the page owner was Egypt
Facebook requires actual proof that the page is owned by that famous person. It requires the users to fill a form and share identity proof, it may be a driver’s license, passport, national identification card, tax filing, recent utility bill, or articles of incorporation. Facebook has been in the news after its name is changed to Meta, although no official statement has been made on the incident.
