Elon Musk’s appearance on fashion night is causing a stir on the internet, with some speculating that he asked Sky Ferreira out.

Maye Musk, the Tesla CEO’s mother, was among those who weighed in on the rumors after the news went viral.

Then something unexpected happened. Elon Musk, a frequent Twitter user and now the platform’s owner, responded to the rumors.

Who is Sky Ferreira?

Sky Ferreira is a singer, model, and actress who is 29 years old.

Sky Ferreria became famous after uploading videos of herself singing to Myspace. Bloodshy & Avant, a production team, later discovered them.

The vocalist is known for her synth-pop work. Madonna, Prince, Blondie, Carly Simon, and My Bloody Valentine are among the artists who have influenced her.

The Webby Awards gave Sky’s single, You’re Not the One, the Best Music Video prize.

Her debut album, Night Time, My Time, was released in 2013, while her most recent release, Masochism, was released in April of this year.

Why did fans believe Sky Ferreira turned down Elon Musk?

After viewing a fake tweet on Twitter, many assumed Elon had asked the model out on a date and had been rejected.

The tweet in question was posted by the Sugar Pop account, which matches the handle of @newypost.

“It lady, mannequin, singer, songwriter, Sky Ferreira denies date with Elon Musk after being requested by his crew for the Met Gala in 2022,” the caption read.

Elon’s team made sure he “sat at the same table as Sky Ferreria,” according to another rumor that followed the fake news.

The article drew a lot of attention and quickly went viral on numerous social media sites.

The Tesla CEO or his team did not approach the model

While Sky Ferreria chose not to address the rumor, Maye took it upon herself to do so.

Mayetweeted in response to the article, “There was no team.” Elon and I were together. So, NO,” an emoji with an irritated look says.

Elon also provided an explanation. “I didn’t ask anyone out or seek special seating,” he replied to his mother’s post.

“This rumor began from a spoof account, but was picked up by genuine media & Twitter trends (sigh),” he said in a separate post.
