Explained: Did Drake just diss Khloe Kardashian with Tristan Thompson cameo?

Drake’ latest album, like Beyoncé’s Beyoncé and Taylor Swift’s sister albums Foklore and Evermore, was unexpected. Nevermind, along with the first music video for the new song “Falling Back,” was unveiled just hours before its release at midnight on June 17th.
What is the song about?
The song appears to be about an underappreciated partner (“I’m still holding my breath for the day that you’ll / See that the work I put in is too genuine”) whose significant other continues “sliding back” to them. Drake’s on-screen image is getting married – to 23 women in one ceremony — in the music video that goes along with it. Oh, and what about his best man? Thompson, Tristan. In the video, the Chicago Bulls player assists Drake with his preparations for the big day, even fixing his bowtie. “Are you prepared?” “It doesn’t feel right,” he adds, adding that he’s “glad” for the fake groom. “You only get married once in your life.”
Of course, if you’re a fan of Thompson’s renowned ex-girlfriend Khloé Kardashian and her family. The whole situation could irritate you. The Kardashians season finale, which aired 24 hours before the “Falling Back” music video. Included the consequences from Thompson’s adultery and paternity scandal, in which he fathered another woman’s kid. “Did Tristan get the chance to inform me?” During the emotional incident, she said, “Yes”. “Was Tristan going to inform me if there wasn’t going to be a baby?” No way, and that reveals a lot about his personality. The whole thing is heinous.”

Khloe Kardashian expressed her desire to marry Tristan in the future
Khloe Kardashian revealed her hopes to marry Tristan one day in the penultimate episode. “I’m not here to float about with Tristan,” she explained. “After all, marriage is the ultimate aim.” But for the time being, I believe there is still work to be done with both him and me.” Naturally, hearing Thompson deliver a marital pep talk — and celebrate a wedding with over two dozen women — irritated a number of Twitter users, with many calling the ill-timed appearance “embarrassing.”
Drake and Thompson have been friends for a long time, thus Thompson’s participation in the video (although problematic) makes sense on that level. Thompson and Khloe Kardashian were seen together as recently as Memorial Day weekend, and Us Weekly claimed in 2019 that they had a “great guys’ night out” during one of their previous separations.
