Everything You Need To Know About Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Daughter Lilibet Diana

Baby Lilibet, the second child of Duke and Duchess of Sussex turns 6 months old. Lilibet was born on June 4th at 11.40 am in the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven’t shared many pictures of Baby Lili. Some sweet details about her have caught our sights.

Here are 10 facts about Baby Lili, better known as Lilibet Diana:

1. She’s Very ‘chill’

While attending a private tea party in July, Price Harry revealed to the guests that Lili was “very chilled”.

He said “We’ve been lucky so far. She’s very chilled and seems happy to just sit there while Archie is running around like crazy.”

During the same party, Harry was also caught bonding with fellow dad Ed Sheeran. He also went on to tell Ed that being a father of two is “definitely a juggle.” 

2. She Hit Her First Milestone

Megan recently made a surprise appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November. But that wasn’t the only surprise we received that day. Megan also revealed that “Lili was teething” after which the camera panned to Meghan with her hands by her mouth as she joked,” anything to relieve that.”

Ellen added to the joke by saying “Tequila, anything.”

To this, Megan replied rather teasingly as she said with a smile “That’s Auntie Ellen for you.”

3. Her Halloween Costume Was Adorable

Megan also told Ellen about Lili’s first Halloween experience. Lili decided to be a skunk “like Flower from Bambi” while big brother, Archie dressed as a dinosaur. But sadly, Archie only wore his costume for “about 5 minutes” according to Megan.

Megan also said, “We wanted to do something fun for the kids, and then the kids were just not into it at all.”

4. She Video Called “Queen Elizabeth”

Baby Lili’s first interaction with her great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth was via video call. This is an important meeting by the books.

We were also told, Prince Harry and Megan couldn’t wait to announce Lili’s arrival to Queen Elizabeth and were extremely excited about it. They told her about the baby’s arrival as soon as they got back home in Montecito, California from the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

5. She’s In Line To Be The Queen

Baby Lilibet is 8th in line to the throne after her brother Archie who is 7th. Prince Harry stands in 6th place in line to the throne.

The legal basis of a line of succession was originally made in the 17th century but William III. It was recently amended in 2013 to end male primogeniture that placed male heirs above their sisters in line for the throne.

6. Her Name Holds A Special Significance

Baby Lilibet was not just named after one but two people from the royal family. The name Lilibet was first used by King George IV. He used this name as a pet name for Queen Elizabeth and is still used frequently in the family.

Lilibet’s name also serves as a tribute to Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, as Lili’s middle name is Diana.

Along with this, the name Lili serves as a loving nod to Megan’s mother Doria. Megan was nicknamed ‘flower’ in her childhood.

7. She Is A Character In Megan’s Children’s Book

Megan’s children’s book, The Bench, is inspired by the royal family’s life in California.

It has illustrations of Harry sitting on the bench feeding chickens with Archie. A woman wearing a sun hat, representing Meghan, stands in a garden with baby Lili in a sling.

Megan also Ellen as to why she wrote the book in the first place saying “I wrote this originally just as a poem for my husband on Father’s Day and it was about my observation of him and him being a dad, which is the most beautiful thing to watch.”

8. She’s Deeply Loved By Her Mother

Megan loves both her children deeply and as a sign of that, she wears two delicate constellation necklaces. Both the necklaces are in honor of her children’s sun sign.

The Taurus constellation goes for her eldest child Archie, Lili has a Gemini constellation.

9. She’s A California Girl

Just like her mother Megan who was born in Los Angeles, Lili was born near Santa Barbara. While, eldest son Archie, is the true UK born and bought up.

Regardless of the children’s birthplace, they are entitled to obtain both U.S. and U.K. citizenship. Since Meghan is an American citizen born and Prince Harry is a British citizen

10. She Completes The Family

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also said that the arrival of Baby Lili has made their family complete. 

Archie loved his role as an elder brother and is extremely happy to have a baby sister according to a spokesman for the couple.

A close friend of the couple has also added “They are so happy. This baby solidifies that they are creating roots here in the States.”
