Kevin Hart has found himself in the middle of cancel culture again for allegedly claiming Egyptians to be black.

Here is everything you need to know.

Kevin Hart faces criticism over alleged Afrocentric remarks

Kevin Hart is currently on the road for his Reality Check comedy tour. However, the actor is facing backlash for his alleged comments on ancient Egyptians.

Hart announced last week on 9th December that he is gearing up to perform in Cairo, Egypt as a part of his ongoing comedy tour.

Moreover, this was supposed to mark the first time Hart took the stage in the ancient city which was stated to take place on 21st February 2023.

However, Egyptians took to social media to call out the comedian for falsifying history and began demanding the cancellation of his performance.

Meanwhile, their reaction comes in response to Hart allegedly saying Afrocentric remarks about ancient Egypt.

Besides that, it remains unclear when and where Hart made these supposed comments.

Regardless, a hashtag is currently trending on social media in Egypt that is calling for boycotting of Hart’s show in Cairo.

Also, Hart is yet to address or comment on the reactions he is receiving from Egyptians to his forthcoming performance announcement.

Zahi Hawass, Egyptologist and Egypt’s former Minister of Antiquities, talked about the viral campaign in an interview.

He explained, ‘Scientifically speaking, Africans have nothing to do with the building of the pyramids.’

Twitter reacts to Kevin Hart’s alleged Afrocentric comments

The news of Kevin Hart making Afrocentric comments about ancient Egypt did not go well with the country’s citizens. In addition, they took to the internet to call him out for his alleged remarks.

A user wrote, ‘You aren’t welcome to Egypt. Egyptians aren’t Africans. We’re the real builders of the civilization, no one else. This Afrocentric is just a lie. They’re liars. Egypt is our land, not the Africans.’

Someone else chimes in saying, ‘we were never black. This is the difference. Stop trying to steal other’s cultures to create fake value for yourself. We were sympathizing with your past as slaves. But that doesn’t mean to wipe it with stealing.’

Meanwhile, others voiced their support for the world-famous comedian on the multi-blogging site.

A different user pointed out, ‘Egypt does not want Kevin Hart’s performance in the country. Because he speaks the truth that Egypt is black Africa long before the Arabs and the European invasion.’
