Eddie Murphy is currently going viral on social media for delivering a joke about Will Smith during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes.

Eddie Murphy accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award at Tuesday night’s Golden Globes. However, he offered certain sage advice to aspiring comedians which have left the internet divided.
Moreover, he began his speech by saying, ‘I have been doing this for a long time. I can literally stand up here and keep saying thank you until they play the piano. I am going to say something to all of the new dreamers and artists that are in the room tonight.’
He continued, ‘I want to let you know that there is a definitive blueprint that you can follow to achieve success, prosperity, longevity, and peace of mind. I followed it my whole career — it’s very simple.’

The actor-comedian then poked fun at Will Smith by adding, ‘Just do these three things — pay your taxes, mind your business and keep Will Smith’s wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!’
If you didn’t know, Murphy was making a reference to Will Smith’s infamous Oscars 2022 moment.
The Men in Black actor went on the stage to slap comedian and host Chris Rock for joking about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.
Furthermore, shortly after the incident, Smith returned to his seat and demanded Rock to keep his wife’s name out of his mouth.
In addition, the moment went viral on social media and was soon deemed to be one of the most infamous moments in the history of the Oscars.
Meanwhile, Smith resigned from the Academy following the unfortunate incident. He is also banned from the Oscars for the next ten years.
