Drake’s Album Comes Back at The Top; Top 10 Include Lana Del Rey And Elton John

Drake’s latest album “Certified Lover Boy” tops the Billboard 200 this week. After slipping out of the No. 1 spot last week, it has reclaimed its position at the top. This is now the fifth week that the album holds the No. 1 spot.

The lust for life singer Lana Del Ray’s “Blue Banister” scored 8th position on the charts with 33,000 equivalent album units. The themes of her album are similar to the previous ones i.e. trauma, gender and social collapse Even though the singer announced the release of this album in July, it was released on October 22. Elton John’s recent album, “The Lockdown Sessions” was placed at the 10th spot with 29,000 equivalent album units.

Talking of the returning albums, Doja Cat’s album is at the 3rd spot, Young Boy Never Broke Again at 4th, Olivia Rodrigo at 5th.  While Moneybagg yo was at 6th spot. Young Thug fell six spots down after being at the top last week. Lil Nas X’s “Montero” which created quite the hype when it was released, rests at 9th position for now.

However, the releases of Taylor Swift and Adele are speculated to create a storm among the charts.

The Hot 100-

Adele’s “Easy On Me” tops the list in its second week too. Gathering around 31.8 million streams and 61.5 million radio audience impressions. 

Other songs that were in the top 10 include- Need to “Know by Doja Cat” at No. 9, Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” at No.5 and “Shivers” at No.7. 

Dua Lipa’s superhit song “Levitating” is now the second song to enjoy the longest time in the top 10. It has been on the list for 41 weeks while The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” sat there for 57 whole weeks. “Levitating” has to be in the top 10 for almost 17 more weeks to break the record.

Records Were Broken By “ Certified Lover Boy”

Drake is the first singer to have nine of his songs in the top 10 positions. The only song that didn’t belong to Drake was “Stay” by Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI.

His song “Way 2 Sexy” which features Young Thug and Future also triumphed. ( Future’s first time being in the number 1 hit).

The album’s 21 songs are in the Hot 100. The album has provided him one of the most dominant weeks in the Billboards Hot 100 songs chart. The Beatles achieved these statistics almost 57 years ago which Drake has managed to match now.

It has also set the record for biggest album debut of the year and it is also Apple music’s most-streamed album in 24 hours breaking Kanye West’s record for “Donda”.
