Drake is back in the spotlight with three surprise releases on his Instagram burner account, including a track titled “No Face” featuring Playboi Carti. Along with “Circadian Rhythm” and “SOD,” these new songs have set the internet ablaze, especially as Drake uses “No Face” to address lingering tensions in the rap world.

Drake has long been at the center of numerous rap feuds, and “No Face” marks a significant moment in his ongoing saga. On this track, he takes a more subtle approach to his beefs with fellow rappers like Kendrick Lamar and others. Instead of naming names explicitly, Drake opts for a more cryptic and ominous message, leaving fans to speculate about the deeper meaning behind his words.

The most compelling part of “No Face” comes when Drake delivers a pointed message to his detractors: “I’m just so happy that n***s who envied and held that sht in got to finally show it / I’m over the moon, yeah, we’ll see you boys soon.” While he doesn’t call anyone out directly, this line is widely interpreted as a veiled response to rappers who have dissed him over the past year. Drake’s calm and measured tone suggests that he’s playing the long game, waiting for the right moment to strike back.

This release follows months of escalating tensions between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, among others. Lamar’s “6:16 in LA” took shots at Drake earlier this year, with Lamar rapping about power and influence, perhaps targeting Drake’s dominant presence in the music industry. Some fans believe Drake’s track “Circadian Rhythm” is a direct response to Lamar’s line, further fueling the ongoing feud between the two rap heavyweights.

In addition to his beef with Lamar, “No Face” touches on Drake’s broader issues with other artists who have criticized him in 2024. Drake alludes to his former collaborators and how they’ve turned against him after benefiting from his fame and influence. “Ns got lit off the features I skated on / I gotta know, how you get lit off the n you hated on?” he spits, seemingly addressing artists who have tried to undermine him despite having their careers boosted by his collaborations.

This isn’t the first time Drake has taken a more subliminal approach to dissing his enemies. In previous tracks like “Push Ups” and “Family Matters,” he has directly named his foes, including The Weeknd, Rick Ross, and A$AP Rocky. But with “No Face,” Drake chooses to keep things vague, only hinting at the animosity brewing behind the scenes. His line “we’ll see you boys soon” suggests that something big is on the horizon, but he’s keeping his plans under wraps for now.

The release of these new tracks comes on the heels of Drake’s “100 GIGS” drop, a massive collection of unreleased music, behind-the-scenes footage, and more. This release also included three previously unheard songs — “It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, “Blue Green Red,” and “Housekeeping Knows” featuring Latto. These songs were initially teased on his burner account before being officially released to streaming platforms, similar to how “No Face” and the other new tracks were handled.

Despite the ongoing drama, Drake shows no signs of slowing down. His ability to maintain relevance in a constantly evolving music landscape, all while dealing with rap beefs and personal issues, is a testament to his staying power as one of hip-hop’s biggest stars.

As for what’s next, Drake seems to be planning something major, and the cryptic lines in “No Face” only heighten the anticipation. While he’s staying tight-lipped about his next move, one thing is clear: the 6 God is far from finished, and his 2024 is shaping up to be another eventful year. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see what Drake has in store and whether his foes will finally meet their match.
