Additionally, he is facing backlash for saying, ‘a woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s and 30s and maybe 40s.’

Matt Dornic, CNN’s spokesperson revealed that Lemon was scheduled to return as the anchor chair of the show. However, he decided to take a leave for the Presidents’ Day holiday.

Dornic claimed in an email, ‘I thought he was coming back tomorrow but he is taking the holiday.’

Meanwhile, reports mention that Harlow will now anchor CNN This Morning with Sara Sidner as per the new on-air lineup.

CNN staffers upset over Don Lemon’s apology for the sexist comment

Don Lemon issued an apology a day after he made sexist remarks about Nikki Haley. He took to Twitter to address the matter.

He wrote, ‘The reference I made to a woman’s ‘prime’ this morning was inartful and irrelevant, as colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it.’

Consequently, he continued, ‘A woman’s age doesn’t define her either personally or professionally. I have countless women in my life who prove that every day.’

However, instead of claiming the storm, Lemon’s apology ended up ruffling the feathers of the network’s staff who believed that his apology was not true.

Besides that, the network’s CEO, Chris Licht, rebuked the now disgraced anchor for the sexist comment.

He stated, ‘His remarks were upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair to his co-hosts, and ultimately a huge distraction to the great work of this organization.’
