Doja Cat, an American rapper, singer, and songwriter, sparked outrage on social media after uploading a picture of herself donning a T-shirt with controversial alt-right figure & self-proclaimed comedian Sam Hyde on it. Sam Hyde has long been involved with far-right action and has been accused of inciting racism, homophobia, misogyny, as well as antisemitism. His purported ties to prominent white nationalists & neo-Nazis have sparked widespread condemnation. Hyde even gave $5,000 to the Daily Stormer, a well-known Nazi website. In addition, his performances on white supremacist podcasts as late as November 2020 have raised questions regarding his associations and opinions.

The uproar began when Doja Cat posted a picture of herself sporting a shirt bearing Sam Hyde’s face. The photograph swiftly travelled across social media channels, eliciting a barrage of criticism and reaction from her followers and the general public. Critics said that by wearing the shirt, the ‘Says So’ singer Doja Cat was unintentionally or purposely endorsing the controversial figure. In the face of escalating criticism, the singer took an unexpected step by deleting the original photo and recreating it with minor changes.

Doja Cat Deletes & Reposts An Instagram Photograph After Seen Donning A Sam Hyde Shirt

Doja Cat is facing backlash after uploading an Instagram photo of herself wearing a t-shirt showing Sam Hyde, who is well-known for his neo-Nazi ideas. After receiving widespread criticism online, the singer removed the photo from the social networking site. Doja Cat has recently become one of the most divisive performers, with songs like Paint the Town Red & Demons being accused of being Satanic in nature. She has recently resurfaced as a topic of discussion after sharing a contentious image on Instagram. Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, was seen sporting a tiara in the now-deleted social media photo. She also wore a pair of little hoop earrings and had her brows bedazzled. In her selfie, she was glaring at the camera and wearing a black t-shirt with an image of Sam Hyde clutching a handgun on it. In the mid-2010s, Sam Hyde went viral on social media after posting a series of homophobic as well as racist stand-up routines.

During one of them, he described himself as having a “fagot brain that’s all f*ed up” because “homosexuality is the manifestation of extreme perversion & antisocial attitudes.” Along with Charles Carroll & Nick Rochefort, he co-founded the comedic ensemble Million Dollar Extreme. Sam Hyde has openly supported alt-right and neo-Nazi groups. In June 2017, Hyde sent $5000 to Daily Stormer far-right content generator Andrew Anglin. Anglin had organised a fundraising to counter the Southern Poverty Law Center’s lawsuit, which alleged that the Daily Stormer was coordinating trolls to harass a Jewish woman from Montana. Sam Hyde became a 4Chan meme in 2015 after purposefully misidentifying himself as the gunman who carried out many mass shootings, including the Parkland, Las Vegas, and Orlando shootings. The infamous internet figure’s image was also spotted in the manifesto of the May 2022 racist New York gunman. After shooting ten people in Buffalo, the latter grabbed the news. Despite deleting and reposting the photo, Doja Cat continues to face outrage online.
