DJ Akademiks was visibly furious on social media following the NFL’s announcement that Kendrick Lamar would headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The news triggered a series of rants on X (formerly Twitter), where the outspoken commentator accused JAY-Z of deliberately favoring Kendrick over Drake, escalating the long-standing rivalry between the two rappers.

Akademiks suggested that JAY-Z, who is responsible for curating the halftime show through his partnership with Roc Nation, might be playing a larger role in Kendrick’s selection. He expressed his frustration, claiming the move was part of a wider scheme to sideline Drake. “The NFL just gave Kendrick Lamar a global ‘Pop Out’ show… Jay Z I see u n****h… u ain’t low…,” Akademiks began his tirade. He went on to add: “Jay Z and Roc Nation responsible for curating the Super Bowl halftime show… remember that.”

In his posts, Akademiks further elaborated on his theory, implying that other artists such as Metro Boomin are waiting for Kendrick Lamar’s invitation to join him at the performance. He humorously imagined them reaching out to Lamar, hoping to be part of the highly anticipated halftime show. He also recalled Drake and J. Cole referencing the Super Bowl in their lyrics, driving home the point that the coveted halftime spot was a massive achievement in the music industry. “Drake and J Cole rapped ‘Big As the What.. Big As the Super Bowl’ And Jay Z just made Kendrick Lamar the headliner of the Super Bowl. Nah n**a dis sht is wild … this sh*t crazy.”

Akademiks did not hold back as he delved further into the tension between Kendrick and Drake, declaring that a “squabble” between the two was long overdue. He accused Kendrick of being “petty” and harboring deep resentment toward Drake, especially with the Super Bowl performance in Kendrick’s grasp. “Na f*ck dat… Drake gotta squabble with Kendrick Lamar. Enough is enough.”

The rant continued, with Akademiks questioning why Kendrick was chosen over New Orleans native Lil Wayne, given that the Super Bowl will be held in New Orleans. He pointed fingers at JAY-Z once again, accusing the hip-hop mogul of being a “legendary hater.” Before ending his tirade, Akademiks hinted at a potential continuation of this rivalry, teasing: “Round 2 Will Still Proceed.”

As Kendrick Lamar prepares for his Super Bowl halftime debut, DJ Akademiks’ outburst suggests the rapper’s rise to the stage is not without its controversies. Fans are now left eagerly awaiting Drake’s response, wondering whether the feud will further escalate. Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing saga.
