Company Comcast’s stake in Hulu is to be taken by Disney finally taking over Hulu for $8.6 billion. Disney is trying its best to get more subscribers to its streaming service platform. Recently it has lost huge number of subscribers because of the Indian market too. While now its Hulu deal is soon to get completed as well.

Disney to get Comcast’s stake in Hulu for $8.6 billion

The Walt Disney streaming platform has experienced both highs and lows in recent years, but that hasn’t prevented them from securing some promising deals. They are now set to acquire Comcast’s stake in the streaming platform Hulu.

Although the deal is worth $27.5 billion. Disney is to take over Hulu with its stake of $8.6 billion. In the recent quarter, Disney lost about 10 million subscribers because of the Indian market. Which now Disney will be trying to get for the Disney+ services.

Walt Disney’s announcement on the Hulu deal

Walt Disney made the $8.6 billion announcement regarding Hulu this past Wednesday, marking the completion of Disney’s takeover of Hulu. The entire deal amounts to $27.5 billion and is set to be finalized by December 1st.

While Disney+ will be working on getting more subscribers on the streaming platform. Netflix has been able to see some growth on the other side in some of its plans. Hence, it would be interesting to see how well the new deal with Disney works for them.

More about Disney acquiring Hulu’s stake

Disney’s statement regarding their acquisition of Comcast’s stake in Hulu reads, ‘The acquisition at fair market value will advance Disney’s streaming objectives.’ The deal is set to be completed in the near future, and Disney is also scheduled to reveal its quarterly earnings reports.

The said report would come out on 8th November. Meanwhile, other competitor streaming services have been trying their best to get more and more subscribers too. Not to forget, Hulu’s original series and movies have given it some really good subscribers over the years as well.
