Lisa Marie Presley and Nicolas Cage’s relationship explored
Nicolas Cage officially tied the knot with Lisa Marie Presley in 2002 two years after they first met at a party.
Moreover, the actor opened up about his first encounter with Presley during an interview with Barbara Walter.
He went on to reveal that he was taken with the beauty after spying on her at a busy party in 2000.
Cage explained, ‘I walk into a party not knowing who I’m going to meet and there’s this beautiful girl standing in the middle of the living room wearing this short leather skirt and this fluffy jacket, and she looks up at me with these big, beautiful, soulful eyes, eyes that look like they have a sad story to tell, and I just went “Oh.”‘
He added, ‘I was thunderstruck.’
In addition, the pair briefly parted ways in 2002. However, they later reconciled their romance and got hitched in August of the same year.
Meanwhile, in less than four months, Cage filed for divorce from Presley.
According to a news report by E!, the couple listed, ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason behind their divorce.
Moreover, around the same time Cage released a statement to address his divorce from Presley.
He said, ‘I did not talk about the marriage and I am not going to talk about the divorce. But I loved her.’
Presley on the other hand issued a statement of her own to talk about the issue.
She noted, ‘I’m sad about this, but we shouldn’t have been married in the first place. It was a big mistake.’
Besides that, Presley and Cage’s divorce was eventually finalized in 2004.

Lisa Marie Presley dies at the age of 54
Priscilla Presley confirmed the heartbreaking news about the demise of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley in January 2023.
She said, ‘It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.’
In addition, she stated, ‘She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss.’
