‘Desus & Mero’ Split Up, What Happened Between Them?
3 min readCOURTESY OF GREG ENDRIES/SHOWTIME
Desus & Mero, a late-night conversation show on Showtime, has ended. The news that their favorite hosts, the Bodega Boys, have split up and won’t be appearing on their screens any longer has shocked and upbraided fans of the duo. What happened to the show was as follows.
With their podcasts, Bodega Boys, Desus vs. Mero, and the ensuing talk show on Showtime, Desus Nice and The Kid Mero have established themselves as successful hosts over the past few years.
Before the fifth season of Desus and Mero’s show could begin, it was announced in a statement released by the network earlier today.
What is up with Desus and Mero?
The Desus and Mero won’t come back for the fifth season of the show, according to a tweet posted on the account representing the program. On June 23, the previous season’s final episode aired.
The decision to stop the program was made because the two will “pursue independent creative projects moving ahead,” it has been disclosed.
The revelation was announced by the network following several days of rumors over the show’s future. Before the announcement, season four has fifteen episodes under its belt.
No comments on the conclusion of their show have been made by Mero or Desus as of the time of writing.
But three days earlier, Desus tweeted a mysterious message. The hive deserved a better finale, he wrote. Reddit is free to malign my reputation, but wait until the truth comes out.
Who are the Hosts?
It is admirable that Desus and Mero have become famous.
Both celebrities worked for various newspapers after graduating from college, including Complex, Vice, and Noisey, according to The Sun.
They later launched the Bodega Boys podcast, which helped them build a sizable fan base.
Up until December 2014, the pair even produced another podcast called Desus vs Mero. They were the most recent to appear in season 5 of Guy Code on MTV.

They began airing their late-night program in 2016, then in 2019 they switched to Showtime.
The hosts have been seen conversing with some of the biggest celebrities, like Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Denzel Washington, throughout the course of the program.
Bodegahive is going down in style
Fans were not at all prepared for the news of the hit show’s cancellation. Following the announcement, a few disgruntled supporters tweeted as follows:
