Debunked: Did Kylie Jenner Really Wear a Lion’s Head Over Her Dress?

The reality star Kylie Jenner wore a dress with a life-size lion’s head attached to it to the Schiaparelli spring 2023 couture show in Paris on Monday. The hyper-realistic gown was widely criticized on social media afterwards. Irina Shayk wore the same black velvet bustier dress down the runway, while Shalom Harlow and Naomi Campbell wore garments adorned with life-like heads of a snow leopard and wolf. Animal heads were featured on many of these dresses, which caused concern among many online. All of these figurines were hand-sculpted from foam, embroidered with wool and silk faux fur, and painted by hand to ensure that they were as realistic as possible.
According to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, those who find issues with these outfits are taking things a little too far when they accuse Jenner and the brand of promoting big game hunting and taxidermy. Kylie Jenner was criticized for it on social media, but Schiaparelli later clarified on Instagram that the gown was made of “foam wool and faux silk fur, and the lion was hand-painted to make it look as life-like as possible. This look was made without harming animals, the brand said. In a statement, PETA defended Schiaparelli’s collection, calling the animal heads innovative and fabulous.

A pair of black Schiaparelli slingbacks with golden embossed toes completed Kylie’s look.
Based on Dante’s “Inferno” and the Nine Circles of Hell, the collection was designed. The same dress was worn on the runway by Russian model Irina Shayk as well. According to many, the dress encouraged trophy hunting and the exotic fur trade. The video was described as disturbing by one social media user. Additionally, netizens commented on Kylie Jenner’s Instagram photos, calling her attire “inappropriate” and “disturbing.” However, she has not yet responded to the criticism.
