Cops rough up and arrest 78-yr-old great grandfather who HONKED in support of Freedom Convoy

A 78-year-old great-grandfather in Ottawa, was arrested for honking his horn. He was in support of protests against mandates and the newly imposed vaccine mandates against COVID-19.

A resident protests the ongoing protests in the Canadian capital. In which a judge outlawed honking in the area. Police arrested Gerry Charlebois for excessively beeping his horn in the area.

An Elderly Man Arrested And Handcuffed

A bystander who videotaped the entire incident claims that Charles was treated unfairly by police officers. The bystander asked, “What has he done wrong?” The officer responded, “Nothing of your f****** concern, man.”

An officer in a blue surgical mask eventually grabbed Charlebois and tried to restrain him with a blue surgical mask. Bringing the grandfather down to his knees and handcuffing him. The city is dealing with days of ongoing protests by truckers against COVID restrictions. The man stopped by the officer as he honked his horn.

In a YouTube video posted earlier this week, a bystander films two police officers arresting Gerry Charlebois. He was honking the horn of his van against a recent court order designed to quell protests.

Charlebois said in an interview with the Toronto Sun on Tuesday, “I meant no harm.”

I just honked my horn at the trucker.”

Who is Charlebois?

Gerry Charlebois, the former high school janitor fined $118 for making “unnecessary noise.”

‘He’s pretty traumatized by the entire situation,’ says David Anber, Charlebois lawyer. A civil suit is being considered as a potential response to these provincial charges.

The family of Charlebois shared photos of his injuries. It showed bruises on his hands, arms, and knees along with dark purple bruises. Charlebois’ hand was covered in bruises and a deep cut, after the arrest on Sunday. Charlebois’ knee appears bruised after his arrest on Sunday.

Earlier this week, an Ontario judge banned honking and air horn blowing. In response to a lawsuit filed by a downtown resident whose apartment measured the noise at 80 decibels. Truckers and the general public have blocked streets connecting different cities and trade routes to the United States.

The Protests Have Intensified

In the midst of the protests, demonstrators blocked the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. It carries 25 percent of all trade between the USA and Canada.

The resignation also comes after a member of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s party said that the federal government’s pandemic response has become “politicized” and “divisive.”
