Owing to his work as an explorer, it was the second Monday of every year’s October dedicated to him. Which is called Columbus Day. Further, this year, Columbus Day is on 10th October. But there has been a demand from people to claim this day to celebrate the Indigenous people and their rights and not as the explorer’s day. Joe Biden’s proclamation too gave the day the title Indigenous People’s Day.
