Celebrities are donating to Ralph Yarl’s GoFundMe after the Kansas City shooting

Several celebrities are offering their support to Kansas City shooting victim Ralph Yarl after a family member launched a GoFundMe account in his name.

Ralph Yarl is a leader of a marching band

Ralph Yarl’s aunt Faith Spoonmore began a GoFundMe page to help his family to raise money for medical expenses. Moreover, it has received more than $2.3 million in donations by Monday evening.

In addition, multiple celebrities including Julianne Hough and comedian Lil Rel Howery have donated sums to support Yarl. Both the stars have donated $1 thousand each respectively.

Subsequently, Christina Ricci and author Pamela Meyer have given $500 each to the fund. Nevertheless, Madonna’s talent manager, Guy Oseary donated a whopping sum of $5 thousand.

Meanwhile, some celebrities have taken to social media to amplify awareness about Yarl’s shooting and shared the link to his fundraiser.

These included Justin Timberlake, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Hudson, and Halle Berry.

Meanwhile, Yarl’s aunt revealed that he is a section leader in a marching band and is often found with a musical instrument in hand,

She wrote, ‘Last summer, Ralph attended Missouri Scholar’s Academy, where he got a full college life experience.’

She continues, ‘His goal is to attend Texas A&M to major in chemical Engineering. When asked how he plans to get into this university, he said, “Well, if they have a scholarship for music or academics, I know I can get it.”‘

Spoonmore mentioned, ‘Life looks a lot different right now. Even though he is doing well physically, he has a long road ahead mentally and emotionally. The trauma that he has to endure and survive is unimaginable.’

More about Ralph Yarl’s shooting accident

Law enforcement in Kansas City released a mugshot of an 84-year-old white man who is charged with shooting a Black teen named Ralph Yarl.

According to the news, Yarl accidentally went to a house owned by a person named Andrew Lester on Monday to pick up his younger siblings.

Lester on the other hand twice shot a 16-year-old teenager who has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.

Ben Crump, a family attorney revealed in a statement, ‘While this is certainly a step in the right direction, we will continue to fight for Ralph while he works towards a full recovery.’

Additionally, Lester is charged with two felonies of first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
