A concertgoer filed a battery report after Cardi B hurled a microphone into the crowd. Cardi B was retaliating in a video posted on social media after someone tossed a drink at her as she was performing her hit “Bodak Yellow.” The rapper appeared stunned before tossing the microphone towards the audience in the same direction that the drink was hurled. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified to NBC News that a lady who did not want to be identified reported a battery case to police one day following the event, but no charges were filed. It’s unclear if the individual who reported the battery to LVMPD is the same individual who threw their drink at Cardi B.

The report, however, stated that the woman “was struck by an item thrown from the stage” on the day of the concert and in the same location, Drai’s Beachclub. The event is the latest in a series of incidents in which fans have thrown things at performers whilst they are onstage. Earlier in July, music artist Harry Styles was onstage in Vienna, Austria, when an object thrown by a fan struck him in the eye. Styles is seen recoiling and covering his eye before departing the stage in videos. He eventually returned to complete his set. He was previously hit by Skittles during a performance in November, as well as by a can of Red Bull in 2015.

Is Cardi B A Suspect In A Battery Case? A fan Reports The Incident To The Police After Being Struck With The Rapper’s Microphone
Cardi B is now a suspect in a battery case after throwing a microphone at an audience member who allegedly splashed her in the face with water in Las Vegas. In a statement released on Monday, July 31, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department revealed that the concertgoer who was struck by the singer’s microphone reported a battery on Sunday. The woman said she was “struck by an item” thrown from the event platform at Drai’s Beachclub during Cardi’s performance. The event was documented in a police complaint, with the ‘WAP’ hitmaker named as the assailant. According to ET, no arrests have yet been made in the case. During a performance at the Vegas club on Saturday, July 29, an audience member threw a drink at Cardi. The rapper then tossed her microphone into the audience. Fans shared a video of the musician rapping ‘Bodak Yellow’ while smiling. A person in the audience then threw a drink in her face. She instantly reacted by tossing the microphone and screaming at the person who splashed water. Security removed the individual from the audience, and the show resumed.

The microphone not only impacted the person who threw the drink, but it also ricocheted & struck another woman standing close. It is unclear, however, which of those persons filed the incident to the police. According to a concertgoer who observed the event, the ‘Please Me’ rapper asked the audience to assist her cool off with water because of the intense heat while she was singing, but she specifically urged them to put water on her legs and buttocks. According to an eyewitness, the singer was “performing at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas on Saturday. Because she was hot, she asked the audience to splash water on her body and legs while she twerked.” The female in the video then hurled a drink in Cardi’s face. During Cardi’s performance, the woman was removed from the stage and Cardi instructed the audience to throw water on her thighs, not her face. The ‘Be Careful’ singer hinted at the mic throw incident on Twitter. Using the hashtag Jealousy to promote her new single with Offset, the singer stated, “Water & gas included…#Jealousy, literally.”
