Cardi B responds to rumors that she threw shade at ‘Munch (Feelin U)’ rapper Ice Spice during her 2023 Hot 97 Summer Jam performance. According to rumors, Cardi B’s performance at New York City’s annual showcase on Sunday (June 4) included some subliminal Ice Spice disses. An Instagram Live video posted by the “WAP” rapper shut down the discussion. I would like to encourage those of you on Twitter who are trying to be messy to cut the bulls**t, Cardi B said on Instagram Live after the show. I don’t – that’s not me at all. As a matter of fact, you’ve been asking me to be messy all the time. You wanted me to be messy on the song, you wanted me to — nah, now come on. Let’s cut the bulls**t, please. Mop up. It’s too messy and it’s too annoying.

UBS Arena was the venue for Hot 97’s annual festival, which was headlined by Cardi B. The Bronx, N.Y. rapper’s set included cameo appearances from 21 Savage, GloRilla, and Latto, with whom she performed “Put It on Da Floor. Some fans, however, have pointed out instances in which Ice Spice shade appeared. The song “Tomorrow” from the 1982 film Annie was sung as an intro to Cardi’s performance of “Tomorrow 2” with GloRilla. She wears her hair in a similar style to Ice Spice, the ginger-haired main character in the film. The anime visual of the woman bent over next to the NYC skyline on the Summer Jam screen looked strikingly like the artist who performed Munch (Feelin U).

Cardi B Addresses Rumors That She Shaded Ice Spice, During A Performance At Summer Jam 2023

During her Hot 97 Summer Jam performance over the weekend, Cardi B denied dissing Ice Spice. As she transitioned to “Tomorrow 2” on Sunday night (June 4), Cardi played the Annie song “Tomorrow” and projected images of orphan Annie twerking onto the giant onstage screen, sparking rumors that she was shading the “Munch” star. It is believed that Cardi was throwing shade at her fellow Bronx native, given the striking resemblance between her ginger curly-haired character and the rising rap star. In a tweet, one person tweeted, Cardi b is putting a caricature of ice spice on her set in the same outfit she wore on her instagram story when she rapped tomorrow 2 and sang Annie before transitioning into tomorrow 2. According to another writer, Cardi B is shading Ice Spice (smfh) for absolutely no reason. Ice spice is about to replace her.

There was no hiding the insecurities. Cardi’s apparent dig against Ice Spice was even attributed by one fan to her recent collaboration with Nicki Minaj, who has been embroiled in a cold war for years. Carly shading ice spice unprovoked after she worked with Nicki, do you see the pattern? another user wrote. After her Summer Jam set, Cardi went on Instagram Live to shut down speculation, and although she didn’t specifically mention Ice Spice, she dismissed any discussion surrounding her performance as fans being “messy.” For those muthafuckas on Twitter trying to be messy, cut the bullshit, she said. It’s not me, come on, that’s not me. First of all, you’ve been asking me to be messy in everything. You wanted me to be messy on the song, you wanted me to — come on, now. Cut the bullshit, she said. Mop up. You guys are too messy and annoying. Despite rumors of friction between the two, Cardi B has supported Ice Spice since she released “Munch (Feelin’ U)” last summer and even mentioned it on “Tomorrow 2.”
