Camila Cabello has recently shared her thoughts on the ongoing rap feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. This rivalry, which reignited earlier this year with the release of several diss tracks, has caught the public’s attention, especially after Lamar’s track “Not Like Us” claimed the top spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.

In a candid interview with The Times on June 27, 2024, Camila Cabello defended Drake amid the controversy. Reflecting on the negativity surrounding Drake, she remarked, “He is such a delight. It’s so frustrating to see people talk about someone you know in a way that is negative. You’re like, ‘Dang, if only you guys could just have dinner or something.’”

Drake has been making headlines not only for his musical feud but also for his collaboration with Cabello on her upcoming album, “C, XOXO.” He is featured on two tracks, “Uuugly” and “Hot Uptown.” Cabello revealed that the collaboration came about through social media. She admitted to initially feeling uncertain about reaching out to Drake, but her doubts were quickly dispelled when he responded positively.

“It’s like a weird teenage thing where I feel that nobody cares about me or likes me. And it was fun to be proven wrong,” Camila Cabello shared. She further elaborated on the creative process behind their collaboration in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. Cabello explained that they decided to split the songs into two distinct tracks because Drake’s contributions were so impactful that they deserved their own space.

Beyond the music, Cabello opened up about her personal life and struggles. She discussed her battle with obsessive-compulsive disorder, highlighting the importance of finding the right therapist and medication. She emphasized that her condition has not hindered her professional work, allowing her to continue thriving in her career.

Cabello also reflected on her upbringing and the significant role her extended family played in her life. Recalling her childhood experiences in Cuba, she said, “My mum will be, like, ‘Well, since you were little you’d be in Cuba with your cousins and your grandparents, and then all of a sudden you’d be in Mexico and you’d spend a week crying.'”

As for her social life, Cabello admitted that she seldom attends industry parties, preferring to spend time with friends and family. “I guess because I started out so young, I just naturally rebelled against that life, and the performative aspects that come with it,” she explained.

In summary, Cabello’s insights into the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, along with her personal reflections, offer a multifaceted view of the singer. Her support for Drake and her openness about her mental health and upbringing resonate with fans, adding depth to her public persona amidst the ongoing rap rivalry.
