The Trinidad and Tobago promoter, Cash Money Brothers Promotions, is suing GRAMMY Award-winning afrofusion star, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, or Burna Boy. Additionally, Cash Money Brothers are suing Burna Boy’s agent, United Talent Agency. Lawyers for Cash Money Brothers’ principal, Michael Durham, filed the lawsuit in the Port of Spain High Court, which also names four local and US-based promoters. The lawsuit alleges the 11 – Shawn Moses, of SM Promotions; Jules Sobion of Caesar’s Army; Oita Ugeh, of Duke Concept Entertainment and Burna Boy’s agent – engaged in a conspiracy by using private information to book the “African Giant” themselves, as did Christian Bernhardt, Burna Boy’s agent, Crystal Cunningham of Twisted Entertainment Barbados and the artist.

Caesar’s Army, however, disassociated itself from the concert in a social media post. There is no truth in any assertion that we played any part in last night’s planning and/or execution,” it said. As a result of the alleged conspiracy, Durham claims financial ruin and financial loss. Moreover, he claims the parties deliberately stalled his ability to make necessary payments to bring the artist’s Love Damini Tour to Trinidad, and they “unfairly and deceitfully” increased the contract price although one had been signed. In their lawsuit, Durham’s attorneys Marikia Trim and Farai Hove Maisasai included text messages between the promoters and Durham.

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu Aka Burna Boy And His Agent Is Being Sued By Trinidad and Tobago Promoter

There is a lawsuit being filed against Burna Boy by a local promoter named Michael Durham. A lawsuit filed in Durham’s High Court by attorney Marika Trim on behalf of Cash Money Brothers Promotions named Burna Boy as a defendant in a Breach of Confidence lawsuit. According to Trim, the entertainer had not been served legal documents by 3 p.m. My process server has not yet served him to my knowledge, but I will check with him. Trim told the Sunday Express via phone yesterday that all other defendants have been served and acknowledge receiving documents. There are ten other defendants listed in the lawsuit, including Shawn Moses, Jules Sobion, Osita Ugeh, Christian Bernhardt, and Crystal Cunningham. The civil lawsuit also names Moses’ SM Promotions, Sobion’s Caesar’s Army, Ugeh’s Duke Concept Entertainment, Cunningham’s Twisted Entertainment Barbados, and Bernhardt’s United Talent Agency. The Sunday Express reported yesterday that Trim’s client is seeking compensation from the defendants but couldn’t quantify how much.

According to Trim, we are seeking compensation and damages, including loss of profit. He is unable to provide an exact figure at this time. According to Trim, acting on behalf of Cash Money Brothers, a pre-action protocol letter was sent to Cunningham accusing the five of “unlawful means of conspiracy in relation to the contracting of the artist” and copied Sobion, Moses, Ugeh and Bernhardt. As a result of long lines and even longer wait times for shuttle buses from various parking areas along the route, including Pier 2, the Chaguaramas Hotel & Convention Centre and Five Islands Water and Amusement Park, many ticketholders found Friday’s concert frustrating. Many people missed the opening set of soca star Kees Dieffenthaller because of the delays. The next act took the stage two hours after Kes left the stage near midnight. Neither Burna Boy nor Jamaican dancehall act Popcaan (Andre Sutherland) could give a reason for the lengthy delay, but both were in their dressing rooms.
