According to excerpts released on Tuesday in People magazine, Britney Spears recalls having an abortion to terminate a pregnancy by fellow pop star Justin Timberlake whilst both of them were dating in the late 1990s and beginning of the 2000s. Spears, 41, said in her autobiography, “The Woman in Me,” claimed the pregnancy “came as a surprise,” but she wanted the kid and consented to an abortion at Timberlake’s request. “I was crazy over Justin.”I often envisaged us creating a family of our own one day,” said Spears. “However, Justin was displeased with the pregnancy. He claimed we weren’t ready for a baby and that we were far too young.” Timberlake & Spears encountered as young cast members on “The Mickey Mouse Club,” and dated for roughly three years in their late teen years and early twenties, turning into tabloid sensations until separating suddenly in 2002.

Britney Spears was repeatedly questioned in the press about her virginity, but Justin Timberlake admitted to sleeping with her afterwards and wrote “Cry Me a River,” where he hinted she had been disloyal to him during their relationship. Timberlake officially apologised to Spears on social media in 2021, following a TV programme on her that featured a segment about how she was embarrassed in the media following their relationship came to an end stating he had “failed” her. Spears went on to have two kids, now 18 and 17, with her second husband, singer & one-time backing dancer Kevin Federline, to whom she had been wed for two years.

Britney Spears Talks About Experiencing An Abortion While Dating Justin Timberlake

Britney Spears is opening up about a traumatic situation she has kept private for the past 20 years. The pop icon says in her upcoming memoir The Woman in Me that when dating Justin Timberlake, she got pregnant with his child but had an abortion, PEOPLE reveals. It was surprising, yet it wasn’t a tragedy for me.” Justin was my all-time favourite. I always imagined us having a family one day. “This was going to occur much earlier than I’d anticipated,” Spears, now 41, says in the book of the pregnancy. “However, Justin was displeased with the pregnancy. He claimed we weren’t ready for a baby and that we were far too young.” “If it were left up to me alone,” she adds in the book, “I wouldn’t have done it.” Despite this, Justin was adamant that he did not want to be a father.” Spears writes of her abortion experience, “To this day, it’s one of the most agonising things I’ve encountered in my life.”

After her divorce from Timberlake in 2002, Spears went on to have two boys with her second husband, Kevin Federline: Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17. Spears’ much-anticipated memoir will be released on October 24 by Gallery Books, a Simon & Schuster division. The memoir follows roughly two years after Spears was liberated from a 13-year-long court-ordered conservatorship. After Spears delivered passionate public evidence in court in June 2021, the conservatorship was revoked in November 2021. In accordance with a press release from Gallery Books, the artist’s memoir “illuminates the everlasting impact of music and love — and the significance of a woman advising her own story, on her own terms,” stating to reveal “for the very first time her astounding journey (and) resilience at the centre of one of the most significant performers in pop music history.”
