Britney Spears is irritated by the disrespect. The pop diva appeared to clap back at her ex Justin Timberlake following his appearing to refer to her during his Wednesday night performance at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas. “No disrespect,” he said to the crowd before going into his debut solo album hit “Cry Me a River,” which is rumored to be about Spears cheating on him. Spears, 42, posted to Instagram on Friday afternoon to appear to criticise Timberlake, also 42. She not only brags about beating him in basketball during their three years together, but she also mocks him for weeping about it. “Psss I never mentioned how I thrashed him in basketball and he would cry,” she said in a lengthy comment that also highlighted her cancelled “Make Me” music video from 2016.

Spears didn’t say whether her comment was about Timberlake, but the “no disrespect!!!” remark after her post appeared to be an immediate reply to his performance in Vegas. Between 1999 and 2002, the singers were Hollywood’s “it” pair. Their breakup occurred the same year that “Cry Me a River” and its accompanying video, which depicted a Spears look-alike being unfaithful, were released. In her biography, “The Woman in Me,” Spears confesses to adultery on Timberlake with dancer Wade Robson at one point in their romance. She does, however, reveal in her explosive book that the Grammy winner cheated on her “a couple of times” – apparently with another celebrity.

Britney Spears Dragged Justin Timberlake After His Performance Of ‘Cry Me A River,’ With A ‘No Disrespect’ Message

Britney Spears slammed ex Justin Timberlake on Friday, less than 48 hours after the 42-year-old singer sang “Cry Me A River” during his set at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas launch on Wednesday evening. Before launching into the 2002 breakup song, which was rumored to be about his ex-girlfriend’s alleged infidelity, Timberlake appeared to caution the audience and issue a tiny disclaimer. “No disrespect,” he yelled at a crowd which included his wife, Jessica Biel, 41. The “Gimme More” singer appeared to mimic Timberlake’s comments on Instagram, writing “no disrespect” after dismissing his basketball skills in a statement accompanying a short clip from her unreleased 2016 “Make Me” music video. “Oh, Jesus Christ, the stories… On set, I could tell !!!” Spears put pen to paper. “Every story has more to tell, and that’s only the beginning !!!” It was shot in the scorching heat of Arizona… For this song, two distinct videos were shot… Most lads exclaim, “OH I’M SHOOK”!!! Psst, I never told how I used to defeat him in basketball and he’d cry… “I mean no disrespect!!!” Spears, 42, attacked Timberlake’s debut solo album, “Justified,” in her best-selling memoir, “The Woman in Me.”

“In my memoir, Spears writes that she felt at the time that she had no opportunity to tell her side of the story. “I could not clarify since I knew no one would side with me once Justin had persuaded the world of his version.” Justin didn’t realise how powerful he was in shaming me. I don’t think he understands even now.” Spears & Timberlake met on the set of Disney’s “The Mickey Mouse Club” when they were tweens, and they dated for two years before splitting up in March 2022. Spears appears to admit in her memoir to having an affair with dancer Wade Robson while still married to the “SexyBack” singer. Timberlake stated in his 2018 autobiography, “Hindsight,” that his “strong” thoughts over the breakup drove him to write “Cry Me A River” in just two hours. He eventually shot a video for the song with a doppelgänger of Britney Spears. After the release of “Framing Britney Spears,” an unauthorised New York Times documentary that probed his relationship with Spears and the reaction Janet Jackson received after “Nipplegate” erupted during the 2004 Super Bowl, Timberlake delivered a public apology to Spears in February 2021.
