According to Boosie BadAzz, he allegedly refused down $250,000 to play at a Pride event. On September 22, Boosie teamed up with The Danza Project. During the interview, the Louisiana rapper, who has been vocal in his antagonism to the LGBTQ community at times, stated he once turned down a $250,000 performance fee for a Pride celebration. “I’m not doing it for the money.” “I’d sacrifice my soul for anything in that situation,” Boosie states at the 41:50 mark in the interview. “I’ve received an offer of $250,000 for a performance at a [LGBTQ] community event.” Big money. I assured them that I have absolutely nothing against it.
But that’s not what I advocate for, and it’s not what I believe in.” “A lot of individuals get that [misunderstood] since they behave like I hate them,” Boosie went on to say. “No. My assistant is a gay man. This individual handles millions of dollars on my behalf. I have more faith in gay individuals than in regular folks.” Boosie has previously made headlines for sharing his sentiments about the LGBTQ community. In 2016, he argued that television is turning children gay. He was accused of being transphobic in 2020 after making negative remarks regarding Dwyane Wade’s daughter’s transition. His feud with Lil Nas X grabbed headlines multiple times the following year.

During a recent interview with The Danza Project, Boosie recalled the offer and emphasised that accepting would have gone against his values. “Companies are reluctant to interact with me owing to the things I say.” There are numerous losses as well as numerous gains. I told them I have absolutely nothing against that, but that’s not what I advocate for or believe in.” Boosie’s bigotry has resulted in countless public feuds over the years, in addition to losing the $250,000 prize. He once called Lil Nas X a slur and told the then-22-year-old to commit suicide. Nas’ 2021 performance at that year’s BET Awards, during which he kissed another man, irritated Boosie.
He’s also had it with Gabrielle Union, accusing her of supporting her transgender daughter. Despite the countless incidences and his most recent words, Boosie has stated that he is not homophobic. This is essentially the same as stating, “I have gay friends, so I can’t be considered homophobic.” If you say homophobic stuff in the media, you are almost certainly homophobic.
