Rapper Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, is now serving a four-year prison sentence after being transferred to North Kern State Prison in Delano, California. The 26-year-old artist was initially held at Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles but has since been moved to the medium-security facility. TMZ obtained Blueface’s new mugshot as he entered the general population of the prison on Thursday, sparking reactions from fans online.

Blueface’s sentence stems from a probation violation tied to a 2021 assault case in the San Fernando Valley. The rapper, who had been on probation, turned himself in earlier this year and has been incarcerated since January. Now, with his official transfer to North Kern State Prison, Blueface’s new life behind bars will focus on preparing for his eventual release. The facility offers a variety of vocational and educational programs aimed at helping inmates reintegrate into society.

Among the options available to Blueface are job training programs, religious services, and self-help groups. Inmates can also participate in educational services such as Adult Basic Education, GED preparation, and English as a Second Language classes. These opportunities are designed to help inmates build skills that can aid them in their lives after prison. According to reports, staff at North Kern State Prison will evaluate Blueface’s background, medical and psychological needs, and social relationships to place him in suitable programs.

As news of his transfer spread, fans began reacting to his updated mugshot on social media. Comments ranged from jokes about his appearance to hope that the rapper will use his time in prison to turn his life around. One fan commented, “Blueface doesn’t lack for food 💀,” referencing his fuller appearance, while another wrote, “I hope he comes home a better man. He was so lost and all over the place when he was out.” Some expressed concern for his family, with one fan noting, “Poor baby… growing up without his parents,” referring to Blueface’s son, Chrisean Malone Jr., who he shares with his ex-girlfriend Chrisean Rock.

Blueface’s personal life has been a source of controversy, especially his tumultuous relationship with Chrisean Rock. Both have faced legal troubles, with Rock currently incarcerated in Oklahoma on drug-related charges. Prior to Blueface’s sentencing, his mother, Karlissa Saffold, made headlines when she took to social media to plead for help from Kim Kardashian in bailing out both her son and Rock. Saffold’s June 2024 Instagram post tagged Kardashian, who has become known for her advocacy work in criminal justice reform. “Can you please get my grandson’s parents out of jail?” Saffold wrote. Kardashian did not publicly respond to the plea.

As Blueface settles into his new environment at North Kern State Prison, his future remains uncertain. However, with access to programs aimed at rehabilitation and personal growth, fans hope that the rapper will use this time to make positive changes. “Still can’t believe this is happening,” one fan wrote, capturing the shock many feel about his current situation. Only time will tell what Blueface’s post-prison life will look like, but for now, his focus will be on making the most of his time behind bars.
