Anne Heche is taken off life support
On Sunday, it was confirmed that Anne Heche was taken off life support after doctors found suitable organ recipients.
A spokesperson told, ‘Anne Heche has been peacefully taken off life support.’
Heche has been brain dead for the past nine days after she sustained severe burns and lung damage from crashing her car in Los Angeles.
The late actress was already pronounced brain dead on Friday however was kept on life support to preserve her organs while health officials tried to find its matching recipients.
According to an official statement on Friday, Heche was already classified dead under California law.
The statement read, ‘While Anne is legally dead according to California law, her heart is still beating, and she has not been taken off life support so that One Legacy can see if she is a match for organ donation.’
However, TMZ reported that multiple organs of Heche were removed on Sunday. The details over which organs were removed or how many remain unknown for now.
LAPD dropped the felony case
The Los Angeles Police Department were suspecting Heche to be under the influence when she crashed her Mini Cooper into a Mar Vista home.
Following her death, the law officials announced that they were dropping the felony investigation.
An LAPD spokesperson claimed in a statement, ‘As of today, there will be no further investigative efforts made in this case.’
They added, ‘Any information or records that authorities that have been requested before this turn of events will still be collected as they arrive as a matter of formalities and included in the overall case. When a person suspected of a crime expires, we do not present for filing consideration.’
