Following Mic-Throwing Victim Files Police Report, 50 CENT May Face Felony Battery Charges

50 Cent is facing felony battery charges in Los Angeles after unintentionally striking a woman in the head with a microphone. According to TMZ, the G-Unit rapper was playing at the Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday, August 29 as part of his “Final Lap” tour when he welcomed special guest YG. The California rapper was performing a song that 50 intended to participate in but was constantly given microphones that didn’t work. That’s when a video showed 50 channelling Cardi B and hurling a microphone towards the audio team, which landed on a woman. The victim was Power 106 radio personality Bryhana Monegain, who feels she was targeted. Later that night, Monegain filed a police report, claiming that 50 stared her in the eyes when he threw the microphone at her. Monegain is shown in photos posted by The Neighbourhood Talk with a deep bloody cut in the centre of her face. She was transported to the hospital and treated for a major wound. While 50 is usually highly vocal on social media, he has yet to speak about the incident that resulted in criminal charges. According to sources, 50 did not intentionally hit the woman, but she believes otherwise.

According to another source, Monegain wasn’t supposed to be standing in the restricted area. Witnesses are urging Monegain to sue 50 for the injuries, which appear to have left a permanent scar. Others urged that artists and fans stop throwing objects during live performances. Cardi B threw a microphone at a fan in Las Vegas last month after the fan tossed a cup of water at her. “Can we just stop hurling things at people?” the user inquired. To the delight of the audience, 50 Cent called out Nas as a surprise guest at a more uplifting segment of the performance. After singing “Hate Me Now” and “Made You Look,” the renowned MC praised 50 Cent for “changing the whole rap game” with his chart-topping debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, released in 2003. “After this man dropped, the whole rap game changed,” he told the crowd. “In this building, there are queens.” My brothers, Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda, deserve special mention. “I adore you, man.” 50 Cent recently collaborated with Nas on “Office Hours,” a track from the Queensbridge lyricist’s Magic 2 album, which was released in July.
