SEGA and Microsoft Announce Advanced Game Development Partnership Using Azure
2 min readSEGA and Microsoft haven’t said anything regarding future games from the publisher’s exclusivity status, although it’s not impossible.

And has been a fantastic partner throughout the years”. “We’re excited to collaborate with them as they look for new ways to use Microsoft cloud technology. Which offer innovative gaming experiences in the future.”
This new partnership appears to be a foresight move by seasoned game developers to anticipate future trends. And, speed up and improve development utilizing Microsoft’s Azure cloud capabilities.

It’s anyone’s guess what “Super Game” is. But it seems like a legacy IP repackaged as an online multiplayer game with social aspects a la Destiny or maybe even Fortnite. Sonic, Phantasy Star, and, most recently, Lost Judgement, are just a few of SEGA’s instantly identifiable and profitable IPs.
It’ll be fascinating to see what a “Super Game” is and whether this new partnership with Microsoft signals that SEGA’s next few games will be Xbox/Windows exclusives.
