The episode starts with saying goodbye to Chris Beard, a football coach who knows more than Ted. This episode is going to be a Beard-Centric episode for sure.

In between, he gets criticism as always. He also was continuing the struggle with the feelings for Jane. Then, Baz, Jeremy, Paul distracted him to have the night be fun. Before that party, he is been a decent one who doesn’t get into bullies’ fights, possesses a fake Irish professor from Oxford, and sporting fancy pants. Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 9: Recap

Previously, the episode opens up with the adieu of Coach Beard. He is having a fun night with Ted and enjoys it in his own way. But, two sports journalists went on life on TV, criticizing him to the core. He gets frustrated and goes off to drink and call off. But, like fate, the criticism is not leaving him alone, even Mae. Jane invites him to the party to have fun but due to his feelings for Jane, he felt heartbroken. Now, Baz, Jeremy, Pall comes over to encourage him to have fun this night. The fun bar is called Bones and Honey. Then, Mae provides clothes to everyone for fun and they left the bar.

Faking as a professor from Oxford:

For entering the club, Beard describes himself as Professor from Oxford and it worked. They finally tricked and enter the club. The new peeps he met inside there also believed him when he said he dated a person from Oxford and he knows a lot of things in Oxford because of her.

Sporting fancy pants:

At the club, he sees an attractive red dress lady and blindly follows her. Then, he reaches a room full of TV where he sees the journalists who criticized him previously. As he tore his trousers by himself before getting thrown from a fight. Again, the lady in red is back. Surprisingly, she offers to stitch them for him and gave him fancy trousers to wear instead. After some time, Beard is in shock seeing the lady in red’s boyfriend. He ran like a wind to get out of the boyfriend.

After taking some breaths, Beard sees 3 people running towards him. It is revealed as James Tartt’s dad. He gets very heavy-hitting than hitting back. Fortunately, Lady in Red’s boyfriend saves him from the bullies. Furiously, Beard explains what went wrong with Lady in Red, but the Boyfriend says he chases him to give his wallet back. As they bid goodbye to him, shockingly, he realizes he didn’t give a reply to Jane which he tried but all in vain.

The episode ends with Baz, Jeremy, Paul winning the limo by picking up Beard.

On reaching home, Beard breaks the home keys. Now, he is in Church to shelter him from the heavy pouring rain. There he reveals to God that he is in love with Jane. Suddenly, the rain seizes, and music starts and leads Beard to a club. That’s where Jane is now! They dance all night long and having heart full fun. Finally, the next day, everyone finds it so funny that they did these kinds of funny mistakes they made in the game. Whereas, Beard continues to sport the pants from the lady in red, Mary.
