In Stargirl Season 2, Episode 10, we came to know that dream of Eclipse came true. The Stargirl doesn’t know much about him and his mission much. But his ultimate goal is to destroy the ultimate threat in pieces. He turned himself into a small boy and his first target was Yolanda. He haunted her with dreams, and his next target was Rick and Beth. Beth got to knew about the motives of Eclipso and she backed off. Eclipso made the decision of attacking the family of Courtney. Well, didn’t that work out? Eclipso got help from Pat and Barbara by hiding a secret.
Stargirl Season 2 Episode 9: Recap
Episode 9 of Stargirl is titled ‘Summer School: Chapter Nine’, the scene starts with ‘decades ago’, where Bruce Gordon had got the black diamond on an island and now he wanted to end up everything with Eclipso but he can’t do so because he owed something. He temped Bruce that Nora, whom he loves can be his by killing her husband. Bruce was allowed to use Eclipso.
Meanwhile, in modern-day Blue Valley, Eclipso, with Yolanda/Wildcat off the chessboard and Rick/Hourman imprisoned targets; Pat, Mike, and Barbara with his mind-fucking operations. Pat, for example, envisions a casket in the living room with someone attempting to escape. Barbara, for her part, ends herself in a stopped frozen-over automobile, where Jordan Mahkent appears in the back of the car to wax lyrical about what they may have had. And Mike, well, he gets literal shivers as the home temperature drops, and Cameron Mahkent comes knocking. Cameron starts taunting Mike over his involvement in his father’s death, and then unleashes an ice blast on Buddy the dog!
Sylvester splits away from Pat to go confab with The Shade right after the team gets some intel on the new threat which was in front of them. It was brought to them by Jay Garrick aka The Flash. Sylvester told Pat by destroying Eclipso’s human host they can kill him but JSA won’t agree over this. But later, Sylvester was clearly shaken by the drastic step once the deed was done. Ted and Rex felt that it was necessary and voted in favor of it while Pat and Jay voted against it. Sylvester and Pat were having the exact problem that’s what Pat thought, Starman actually breaks the tie with a yea.
Back in Blue Valley, Barbara is saved from her icy roadside predicament by a nudge from a wisp of The Shade, while Courtney finds traumatized Mike and then Pat, using a touch of Cosmo to pull them out of their hallucinatory states. Pat, who in the final throes of his hallucination was being tormented by adult Bruce Gordon, confides in Courtney the OG JSA’s dark secret, that they chose to kill Bruce Gordon back in the day – and how afterward, the team members went their separate ways and didn’t reunite until the ISA formed. And even then, Pat says, they were never the same. Courtney recoils at this killer reveal, and even more so when she realizes that Barbara already knows. And the episode closes with the Whitmore-Dugans verbally lashing at one another in the kitchen, while Eclipso as a beaming young Bruce watches from outside.
