DC fans, buckle up; the Snyderverse may be coming to an end. The DC fan base fears the worst as Warner Bros Discovery announced a new department head for DC Studios will be James Gunn and Peter Safran, the directors of ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘Peacemaker,’ respectively. The move comes after DC Studios recently parted ways with Walter Hamada. Gunn took over the role while some saw Snyder’s return as an opportunity. Known as the Snyder-Verse, Snyder was set to direct five DC Universe films. To fans’ disappointment, his involvement in ‘Justice League’ was cut short after he left during the post-production process due to a family tragedy. Snyder’s return has been awaited ever since. As for Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3, it appears to be dead in its current form and not moving forward.
Her co-written treatment, written with Geoff Johns, was just submitted, according to sources. Despite this, James Gunn and Peter Safran, along with Warner Bros Pictures’ co-chairmen and co-CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, deemed the project not appropriate for the new plans. Jenkins directed and co-wrote the two previous movies starring Gal Gadot. The first was released in 2017 and the second in 2020. DC Studios could save tens of millions of dollars if the third instalment does not go ahead, insiders said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The third film was expected to pay Gadot $20 million, while Jenkins would get $12 million.

Fans of DC, buckle up; the Snyderverse could be coming to an end. As Warner Bros’ new leadership looks to change DC’s future, DC Studios has been undergoing a massive shakeup for months. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the studio may be shuttering the Snyderverse completely. The new heads of Warner Bros Discovery, James Gunn and Peter Safran, will present their years-long plans next week. As DC’s plan evolves, it could introduce a completely new vision for the franchise, which is currently in flux. The new vision: what does it look like? Though we don’t really know, it appears Wonder Woman 3 won’t be included. According to reports, Gunn and Safran’s DC won’t move forward with the film.

There is a possibility that Zack Snyder’s Snyderverse is coming to an end with the Wonder Woman move. Therefore, Snyder’s Justice League movie may not include all the heroes he cast. We won’t see Man of Steel 2 with Henry Cavill, and there won’t be Aquaman with Jason Momoa. Some fans speculated if Snyder-Verse was officially dead, tagging Gunn on Twitter and saying, This would be the worst decision I have ever made. It only takes one more film from Zack Snyder to conclude his Justice League arc, and preferably the release of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, to secure my loyalty.
