After Hawkeye, Marvel is set to release the Eternals series on the streaming platform Disney+. The MCU movie which was released on November 5 this year is now debuting on Disney+ as fans were desperately waiting for this.
Based on a comic with the same name written by Jack Kirby, the movie is directed by Chloe Zhao and has collected a total of 4 343 million on the box office.
When will Eternals stream on Disney+ ?
Disney plus will be the only website exclusively streaming Eternals. The CEO of Disney revealed that viewers will be able to watch the movie at their homes after the 45-day theatrical exclusive. This means that it could hit our screens on December 20.
However, Shang-chi was released after a 70 day period on the streaming platform. If Eternals somehow follows Shang-chi’s path, then it will be available by January 12. Marvel’s Eternals will be available to stream on Disney+ starting 12 January 2022.
Disney+ subscription costs $7.99 a month and $ 79.99 a ye ar.
Critical Response-
Eternals was loved by MCU fans as it grabbed $ 162 million on its opening day itself. It was the second-largest opening after COVID-19.
The movie has received average ratings and reviews from critics. It gained the approval of 48% on Rotten Tomatoes with a rating of 5.6 out of 10. Meanwhile, MetaCritic gave it a 52 out of 100. It has been the lowest-rated Marvel movie till now.
“A mishmash of well-meaning, yet jarringly verbose and bafflingly incoherent nonsense which is only just about saved by some half-decent performances”, said Linda Marric of the Jewish Chronicle, giving it a three out of five stars.
Some critics have described it as a dull, cheesy, and time-wasting movie. While others there have given decent reviews claiming that it is a standard superhero movie but it somehow lacks excitement.
Cast-
The movie has a run time of two and a half hours. It follows a group of ten Eternals who are sent on earth to protect people from the Deviants ( the evil). They are reunited because of their common mission to save the earth.
Eternals features Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Harish Patel as Karun. While Salma Hayek plays Ajak and Angelina Jolie is seen as Thena.
