Mike remains in “critical condition”, according to a Mississippi State Football statement. While dealing with the dire situation, his family has requested privacy. On 11th December Mike Leach collapsed at home and was hospitalized. It seems he has recovered from the pneumonia he had a few weeks ago.

Mississippi State Football issued a statement saying: Mississippi State University Head Football coach Mike Leach remains in critical condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. During a meeting with Interim MSU Athletics Director Bracky Brett, MSU President Mark E. Keenum and Defensive Coordinator Zach Arnett decided to place Zach Arnett in charge of the MSU football team until Coach Leach returns. Coach Mike’s family is with him and appreciates the love and support he has received. At the same time, they also request that their family’s privacy be respected. He and his wife Sharon Leach have been married for over 30 years, for those who are unaware. A college romance blossomed into a relationship. Their first date took place at A&W Restaurant after a rugby match at Young University in Provo. With over three decades of marriage, the couple has four children and three grandchildren.
