Zayn Malik’s Protective Stance: Keeping Daughter Khai Away from the Spotlight

Zayn Malik explained in a recent podcast that, he wanted to give his daughter a normal childhood away from the paparazzi. With supermodel Gigi Hadid, 28, the former One Direction star has two-year-old Khai. In order to prevent her from being thrown into the spotlight and give her the opportunity to decide if she wants to live that life, the model explained that they chose to raise the girl primarily on the Pennsylvania farm she shares with her sister Bella Hadid, 26. He said on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, in his first interview in six years: ” I did not want her exposed to that, you know, like I made the choice.”. My response was, “Let’s get out of here so she can get to it.”.

“There is a chance of having a normal childhood, where there aren’t cameras flashing in affairs constantly,” says the ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ singer, who believes it is possible to be famous and live in a place that offers sanctuary to you. I just want to give her a choice, so she can live here if she wants to be away from it. It’s because I’m famous and I get sanctuary.” In the trailer clip for the interview, Zayn Malik discussed how becoming a father changed his life and how he wanted to show Khai a good example. “I have been striving to be a good example for my daughter since I had her.” I’m doing this interview for that reason.
